Krisstian de Lara Speaks About El Chácharero’s Premiere and His Feature Film Directorial Debut on Univision

Director, Krisstian de Lara, gets invited to Univision’s evening newscast to invite viewers from the tri-state area of El Paso, Texas, Las Cruces, New Mexico and Juarez, Mexico to the premiere of his upcoming documentary short, El Chácharero, at El Paso Film FestivalEl Chácharero is the third installment from a trilogy of documentary films that showcase the most shocking lives from the border community. This third chapter tells the story of a man that survives by picking up trash in downtown Juarez, Mexico, and its correlation between the US and Mexico border.

During the interview conducted by news anchor, Viridiana Solano, Krisstian describes how startling the previous documentaries have been to the film community of the borderland. This third film just like the previous ones, Krisstian constantly thinks about the unsettling answer when he asked El Chácharero of easier means to resolve his extreme poverty, “What he said has stayed with me up to this date and I hope to share this message with the community of El Paso.” Viridiana heightens on how proud the community is of having Krisstian using his talent to showcase the story of not just one but many individuals living in the poorest areas of Ciudad Juarez, “This also reflects on the community, the way we are here in the border and how we treat each other. […] How our heart beats as one.” Krisstian noted.

Viridiana also announces the exciting news of Krisstian debuting as a feature film director with the launch of his film, Investigation 13. Currently, showcasing in all digital platforms such as Amazon, iTunes, Google Play, and DirecTV to name a few, and its physical DVD form over at Walmart nationwide,

So, if you guys have an opportunity to go to Walmart, look for Investigation 13, and support local talent— which was filmed in Miami. Because if it wasn’t for the community that has given me so much, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
